founder of RHYTHMIC MEDICINE, is a pioneer in the field of Music Therapy. She is a musician, national speaker and Director of the Rhythmic Medicine Studio and is one of the first music therapists to start a private practice.
A primary aspect of Hoffman's work lies in how music affects our bodies physiologically. She has developed specific techniques for using music to help lower heart rate and blood pressure also helping to alleviate pain. She has been a pioneer in the uses of music and guided imagery to help clients get deeper insights into themselves and their issues. Hoffman authored the book, RHYTHMIC MEDICINE, Music With a Purpose and has published fifteen CD's specifically for therapeutic purposes. She was one of the first people to write music for specific medical uses. In 2006 she founded a non-profit organization, SOUNDS OF COMFORT, whose mission is to provide appropriate music for people who are very ill in hospitals and for the dying. She developed a seminar entitled "Musical Solutions for Healthy Aging." She took care of her elderly parents in her home and has a passion for bringing music and the arts to our elders.
Janalea received degrees from the University of Missouri - Kansas City and master's degree from the University of Kansas in music therapy. Among the many awards she has received is the Madonna Spirit Award from Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital in Nebraska for innovative work in music and medicine. more info

Elaine Cormany
is an Artist in Residence, and head of The Vocal-Artistic Studio, Inc. She was an accomplished pianist before becoming a professional classical singer, which has been an asset both in accompanying herself at specific functions, and being able to accompany her students. Her extensive professional singing career has included appearing on major operatic and concert stages in the US, Germany, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Rumania, Russia, Brussels, Holland, and Luxembourg to name a few. more info
Healing Concert

Join Janalea Hoffman, Elaine Cormany and guest musicians for a unique program that is part concert / part music therapy. In addition to live music The Healing Concert consists of a power point presentation about how music affects your brain and general well being. It is divided into different sections according to how your brain responds and the slides are punctuated with live musical examples. The focus will be on practical musical solutions to help you learn about your own healing journey.
Our world tends to be rather frantic, so this is an opportunity for a musical escape into peace and harmony, as well as tapping into your own body’s wisdom. There will be specific music to help ease pain, music to help with specific frequencies in your body as well as information on how to use music on your healing path. A wide range of music from classical to popular with specific information on why it was chosen to help with personal healing will be performed.
