Dr. David’s Passion Plan:
A prescription for a long and independent life.
Saturday Afternoon, October 3rd, Luncheon 1:00 - 2:30 p.m.
“Once you see a grandmother on a Harley, you’ll never think about getting old the same way again. In fact, it’s high time we discard virtually everything we thought we knew about aging. The time I’ve spent with thousands of my patients has made one thing abundantly clear – our assumptions about aging are just plain wrong,”
David Lipschitz, M.D., Ph.D., Executive Director
Longevity Center at St. Vincent Infirmary in Little Rock.
“Dr. David’s” presentation is for anyone who wants to learn how to cut through the hype and stay active, vital, and energetic for more years than any of us thought possible. He discusses the benefits and the “how-to’s” of living a long and independent life.
In his presentation, “Dr. David” shatters the misconceptions that most people – and many doctors – have about the aging process. With his characteristic wit and in his delightful South African accent, he sets the record straight on many myths of aging, including the following:
- No one should be overweight. Wrong! Losing weight is the worst thing for older adults.
- Heart test and treatments will save your life. Wrong again. Most procedures are performed on people who don’t need them.
- Walking is the perfect exercise for older adults. Walking is fine, but you also need tough exercise!
- We all get weaker and more frail with age. Stay active and you’ll always be strong enough to do the things you want to do.
- Sex and libido invariably head south. Disease, not age, is what causes sexual decline – and diseases can be treated.
