Removing Muscle Spasms
Sunday, Nov. 16th, 2008, 8:30 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.
Participants will learn a few of Mark's secrets for releasing common muscle spasms in the back, neck, and shoulders. Note: this is not massage but a scientifically devised therapy. This technique is fairly simple to learn and relatively gentle. Results are immediate and dramatic. Please wear loose fitting clothing and if possible, bring a mat to lie down on.
Mark Arouh, DOM, LAc., MTI
is an Arkansas licensed acupuncturist and Chinese herbalist, and also a Master massage therapist and massage therapy instructor since 1992. His specialties include: Pain management, digestive disorders, women’s health, chemical dependency, fatigue, insomnia, headaches, and musculoskeletal disorders.
Pain relief is Mark's personal specialty. Western medicine, as practiced by medical doctors, usually treats pain with either drugs (often with nasty side effects), nerve blocks, or occasionally surgery. While these approaches can work for some types of pain, patients often experience considerable pain that is poorly treated with these methods.
Mark utilizes many techniques, herbs, and therapies unknown or unavailable to medical doctors. The best known of these is acupuncture; another excellent technique for easing pain involves the use of ‘cupping’. The most common therapies Mark uses to treat pain are various forms of medical massage and bodywork. These include traditional Swedish massage, full body reflexology, Reiki, spasm release therapy, and the use of topical medicinal herbs and hydrotherapy.
Examples of some of the many types of pain conditions treated include: headaches, shingles, fibromyalgia, peripheral neuropathy, PMS and cramps, pain during intercourse, carpal tunnel syndrome, muscle spasms of any kind, frozen shoulder, rheumatoid arthritis, pain from surgery or trauma, and referred pain.
