Sacred Circle Dance

From the beginning of time, sacred movement, song and story have brought people together - at times of seasonal ceremony and celebration, as part of everyday life and life passages, in daily renewal and meditation, etc... As in these timeless mystic traditions, the Dances use simple music, lyrics, and movements to touch the spiritual essence within ourselves and others.
No musical or dance experience of any kind is required and everyone is welcomed to join in. Participation, not presentation, is the focus. No special attire is required, although comfortable, loose-fitting clothing is best.
Participants join hands forming a circle. Teaching of the steps for each dance is done with a compassionate heart and the focus is on moving with the music. Most Dance sequences are short and repeated many times, so learning is usually quick and easy. The mood of the Dances is infinitely variable, evoking feelings of love, joy, compassion and a sense of unity.
The experience is designed to integrate body mind spirit and to allow the participants to go deeper within themselves for spiritual renewal or inner problem solving.
Participation in this activity provides 1.5 contact hours for Nurses and Massage Therapist.
Education is approved through the Kansas State Board of Nursing.
Janalea Hoffman
